Sustainability as a Guiding Principle –
Our Commitment to a Better Future

We are aware of our long-term responsibility towards the environment and, above all, to our employees, customers, and suppliers, and we view sustainability as a guiding component of our daily operations.

Our sustainability program focuses on a holistic view of the three aspects: economy, ecology, and social issues. We see our greatest leverage in the development of more sustainable products and production processes.

To promote transparency and commitment within our industry and to identify areas for improvement, we have opted for the EcoVadis sustainability rating and have been awarded the Silver Medal. This places us in the top 15% of the ranking.

“Sustainability is a top priority for us and permeates all areas of our business. As a family-owned company, it is natural for us to take responsibility for the well-being of future generations.”

– Johannes von Cossel, CEO

Our Four Areas of Action

Sustainability is a fundamental part of our corporate management, which is why we have integrated it as a comprehensive concept with four major areas into our philosophy:

In this focus area, we target our products and their transformation, supporting our customers and suppliers in achieving their own climate goals.

Selected Goals and Measures in this Area Include:

  • Expansion of the product portfolio through the development of more sustainable, high-performance product components
  • Further enhancement of innovation and research through collaboration with research institutions and companies (e.g., the "ALBINA" research project)
  • Continuous improvement of product quality and safety by reducing labeling and increasing the proportion of pollutant-free products
  • Development of products to reduce labeling and achieve mineral oil-free solutions
  • Calculation of the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) according to the uniform criteria set by UEIL

The focus area encompasses all measures related to climate and environmental protection at our own locations. Our primary focus here is on energy efficiency, emissions (using and purchasing 100% of energy from renewable, low-emission sources), and the Product Carbon Footprint.

Selected Goals and Measures in this Area Include:

  • Net-Zero in Scopes 1 and 2 by 2040
  • To achieve this goal, we will reduce our emissions from company-owned sources, lower our energy consumption, and purchase low-emission energy. We also aim to reduce the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) through regular energy audits according to DIN EN16247-1.
  • Certification according to ISO 14001

In this area, we emphasize our principle that "Business is made between people". We value long-term, trustworthy partnerships with our suppliers, customers, and business partners. Our actions are characterized by corporate responsibility, reliability, and fairness. We also take responsibility along our supply chains. We promote transparency and dialogue and actively shape the developments in our industry.
