ACL opens brand new lab

German additive producer Additiv-Chemie Luers GmbH (ACL) has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art laboratory.

Following continuous expansion of the production units over the past few years, the company doubled the size of their lab facilities, extending over two floors. The new, fully equipped laboratory is used for quality control a well as for research and development – with the development section clearly separated from quality control.

“With the new lab we will expand our range of testing equipment for the development of new products as well as for existing products”,
ACL’s managing director Johannes von Cossel said. “Moreover ACL has the ability to enlarge our lab team if needed as much more space is available”.

With this investment, the lab meets all the requirements for an independent and modern producer of additives for metalworking fluids, allowing the company to continually produce first-rate products – for customized and standard solutions.

With the opening of the new lab ACL has brought out a label free heavy sodium sulfonate. The range of synthetic, natural and mineral oil free sodium sulfonates constitute ACL’s core products. New regulations like REACH and GHS force the industry to develop label free products. ACL has picked up that path and has brought out a label free sodium sulfonate with an average molecular weight of 530. The intention is to extend that range of products as well as continue on the development of “green” products.
